Meet Witches & Big Pumpkin in the Kyoto Station Building

A special photo shooting stage will be set up during the event period and people can enjoy taking photos with a realistic witch house. *Bring your own camera for the photo shooting.

Wear Halloween Costume and Get a Treat!

Special Halloween treats will be distributed to children at various sites in the Kyoto Station Building! Get an original bag at the Witch House in front of the Information Center and then treats will be given by witches (only for those who have the bag). Look for the witches who are moving around Kyoto Station!
*Limited to the first 800 children.

Gigantic Pumpkin is Coming to the Station!

The gigantic pumpkin made by the internationally-acclaimed Japanese contemporary artist, Yayoi Kusama, will be coming to the Kyoto Station Building from the Forever Museum of Contemporary Art, Gion-Kyoto. ''Pumpkin'' is one of the largest symbolic art works of Kusama which sits at the entrance of the museum as the symbol art piece. Take a photo with this huge and great pumpkin by this famous Japanese artist!

Nuit Blanche Kyoto 2018 - Love Circus MA Project

Every year in autumn, there is a night which features the contemporary art festival ''Nuit Blanche'' in Paris. On the same day as the Nuit Blanche in Paris, the Nuit Blanche Kyoto 2018 will be held.

On this special night, the wizard of contemporary circus from France, Camille Boitel, will perform and weave a magical night in the Kyoto Station Building!

Camille Boitel
Camille Boitel self-learnt circus performance techniques since his childhood and became a popular street performer. Later, he studied at France's elite circus school ''Académie Fratterini.'' After meeting and studying under James Thierree (the genius of France contemporary circus, also the grandson of Charles Chaplin), Camille made his mark as a professional performer.

What is ''Nuit Blanche'' (the Midnight Sun Festival)?
''Nuit Blanche'' is a onenight contemporary art festival held in Paris every autumn. Since Kyoto City has a sister city relationship with Paris, Kyoto also holds the Nuit Blanche KYOTO which features a variety of contemporary art from both Japan and France at various sites in the city. Spend a wonderful magical night!

This year marks the celebratory 60th anniversary since Kyoto City made a sister city relationship with Paris, France. Various fun events featuring ''Paris, France'' will be held during the ''International Sister City Festival in Kyoto Station Building.''

Charming stroll in Paris

The history of the friendly relationship between Kyoto and Paris will be introduced with a panel exhibition. Visitors are also able to enjoy the beautiful scenery of Paris.

Music concerts and performances related to Paris will be presented. A variety of performances such as the violin music and contemporary circus will entertain the audience.

Graphical Illumination PLUS
on the Big Stairway

The Kyoto Station Building will be romantically illuminated using special effects, together with approx. 15,000 LED lights, on the main stairway (125 steps) featuring special graphical images along with elegant music. Enjoy the artistic seasonal illuminations of Kyoto.
